What we collect
UTOG collects the minimum data needed to operate this site and improve the tools. Here's exactly what that means:
Analytics (Google Tag Manager)
We use Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors interact with the site. This collects anonymized usage data including pages visited, time on page, device type, and general geographic region. We do not track individual users across sessions or build personal profiles.
Product analytics (PostHog)
We use PostHog for product analytics — including page views, tool usage patterns,
feature adoption, and session recordings. Session recordings mask all input fields
by default so sensitive data (like email addresses) is never captured visually.
PostHog data is stored in the United States (PostHog Cloud).
We respect the Do Not Track browser setting. You can opt out of PostHog tracking
at any time by running posthog.opt_out_capturing() in your browser console.
Tool interactions
When you use our interactive tools (Game Identifier, Traffic Quality Auditor, etc.), we record anonymized interaction events — which questions were answered, which options were selected, and completion status. This data is used to improve tool design. No personally identifiable information is attached to these events.
Email capture
Some tool pages offer an optional email signup. If you provide your email address, we store it solely to send you relevant content and updates. We never sell, rent, or share your email with third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email or contacting us directly.
Data you enter into tools
Data you enter into UTOG tools (e.g., CSV uploads, text inputs) is processed entirely in your browser. We do not transmit, store, or have access to this data. It stays on your device.
Cookies
This site uses cookies set by Google Tag Manager and PostHog for analytics purposes. These are standard analytics cookies that help us understand site usage patterns. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

Your rights
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. For EU/EEA residents, this includes rights under GDPR. For California residents, this includes rights under CCPA.

Data retention
Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics (14 months) and PostHog (12 months) default settings. Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. We do not retain any data entered into browser-based tools.
